Q Is Not Funny Impractical Jokers

Do Q and Murr not get along that well?

I admit I'm fairly new to the show but I just don't see the chemistry between them that I see with the other jokers. I'm not saying they're not "friends" but I just get a different vibe when the two of them interact.

i feel like the four wouldn't be close w/o Joe. he's like the glue that keeps them together.

level 2

I'd say it was Sal. I read a rumour that Q doesn't like Murr or Joe, isn't keen on the show but does it for the money. Probably just a rumour though.

level 1

They're all friends, but it's kinda like this:

Joe + Murr = best friends

Joe + Q = good friends

Joe + Sal = good friends

Sal + Q = best friends

Sal + Murr = friends

Murr + Q = good friends

level 2

Okay, so it's Sal and Murr that are the least close to one another. I'll definitely pay attention to this watching the show going forward.

I do genuinely believe they are all friends though and none hate each other. I guess I didn't word my original post well.

To add to what people are saying, if you listen to What Say You with Sal & Q they kinda villain-ize Murr on the show. At one point a WSY fan went to a meet & greet at a Tenderloin fan and told Sal & Q he would be really mean to Murr. I don't remember exactly, but it was definitely crossing the line. They then spent a few minutes to explain that Murr is just the one that gets the most shit out of the friends, but at the end of the day they are all really good friends and they don't want other people being mean to Murr. It's like siblings, ya know. It's okay for me to be an ass to my sister, but nobody else better mess with her.

Up your ass and to the left

"He's a douche, but he's our douche" is what they say about Murr. Sums it up nicely :)

level 2

And Murr did an AMA here where he said he plays up his victim role on the show because it's funny

level 2

Yep! I remember that. He went to one of their love shows and some drunk fan asked murr what he was doing there. They play it up. They're actually friends

level 2

Any idea which episode that was?

One more ride and it's night night forever

Q met Murr first and were friends then they all eventually met each other. Joe and Murr are closer because they used to live together and Q and Sal are closer just because they're closer friends, play they are the only ones that still live on Staten Island. Murr lives in Manhattan and joe lived in manhattan as well but moved to Long Island a couple of years back

level 1

Joe and Sal are the Heart and Soul of the Tenderloins, Murr is somewhat the Brain and Q represent the balls.

level 1

They all get along well, it's a pretty standard dynamic for male friends to be always ribbing each other, doesn't mean any actual disdain.

level 2

lol i know that i just got a different vibe from those two is all.

The best way to understand the Tenderloins is actually to listen to Q and Sals podcast "What Say You" and Q's podcast on Kevin Smiths network, "tell-em Steve Dave." They are all definitely friends. They all love each other. Even Sal and Murr. They play the Murr hatred up for the show. Murr is sort of the businessman and has the thickest skin so I think they go after him the most. The perceived distance of Q is actually accurate because he misses being a firefighter. Q likes the money but the show really drains him. Even to the point where he almost died from his sickness. He could take or leave the show but Murr and Joe love it. Sal is sort of in the middle because he wants to do stand up. Q's real passion is podcasting and is very consistent with TESD despite being so busy. He's so dedicated to that podcast, that the podcast with him and sal fell by the wayside and they haven't released in episode in a very long time. At the end of the day, it's a job to him. They work really hard on the show. Spend 8 hours a day shooting to hopefully get ten minutes of funny material. It's not all fun and games but since they hVe hit a hundred episodes they make a shitload more so it's worth it.

I think Q and Murr get along really well, but Joe is closer to Murr since they were roommates.. Sal and Murr are the least close but they're all best friends. From my perspective, it seems that Murr gets along most with Joe, then Q, then Sal.

I always get the impression they aren't best friends. However, it was the two of them seeing each other again that started the whole thing so I doubt they get each other.
